Layari Gang War
If someone has watched Indian movie “Vastav”, one could easily imagine the similarity between Ragu ‘s area power game and Layari on going tussle of gangs at the cost of innocent lives of peoples , policemen , opponents and prevailing of fear among the inhabitants. In the closing moments of the movie, Ragu (Sanjay Dut) asked the crime plotter Minister that “Aj Ragu khatam , kal Anwer Hateila aa gaya , phir uss k baad koie aur , phir koiee aur”. This dialogue is nothing much strange for residents of Layari, as they have experienced series of Ragu like gangsters over the decades with the interest based support of local provincial ministers. Until the threat to the interests of ministers, Ragu like peoples are nourished; although, threatening the inhabitants all the time is not an issue. The mark of society degradation comes into notice once again! For me, the local people should also take responsibility for making Layari the land of “Crime Hub”. They applaud and motivate these gangsters; on the contrary, they are not fighting for any political or religious cause whereby we could allow the excuse for coming over the wrong interpretation to get their goals. They actually fight who can sell more drugs, arms and exchanges human lives. Therefore, promoting and allowing such situation is not possible only due the impositions by government’s ministers but evident with supports of local people. A good or bad culture is always promoted with the help of people, and this crime culture has prevailed due to the same. However, it is also a truth that governmental Ministers take benefit from these gangsters for their interests and play equal role with locals to make them hero one day and zero on the other day. The religious scholars should start their Jehad in the Layari to preach people about the basic morals of human life and Islam despite focusing on not-achievable targets of throwing back super power. A change is always a collective effort, so let’s hope for the better time ahead.
